Why is this not in the news!?
Why is this not in the news!?
I don’t really get why it matters.
Would it have been less shocking if we were talking mice? Or talking snakes? Most species communicate one way or the other, a lot of them through sounds, that’s pretty common.
Unless the confusion is about humans being “apes” but then again, I don’t see why it would be so shocking.
Why is everyone just acting like that’s normal!?
Case in point!
Were you not paying attention in science class?
It was:

Thing is we made up the word apes. The universe doesn’t care.
Preach.
Because a) it’s old news and b) it’s technically incorrect. Apes and humans share a common ancestor but are not the same.
We’re not modern apes, but we are apes, in the same way that birds are dinosaurs
You’re thinking of chimps, apes are any primates without tails.
I’ve personally not seen a single news story about it in my life or it obviously would’ve fully hit me sooner.
I’ve also never seen a news story about it, because it’s so old news that I just learnt about it in biology class
Try to downplay it and cover it up all you like. I’ve just submitted it as a news tip to half a dozen newsrooms. We’ll see who’s right!
It’s not incorrect, if by “apes” you mean hominids (which is what it usually refers to), then we’re part of that family and by extension we’re what’s colloquially known as apes.
Awwwwww…
Did someone just discover drugs…?
I don’t think you fully appreciate the gravity of the situation.
Charles Darwin first wrote about this in the 1800s. Most people have heard of evolution. It’s no big secret.
Wait until you discover that gravity is attracting all things, all the time, across the entire universe and that it’s impossible to escape its grip
